Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria, was once again targeted in an attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen. This unfortunate incident took place on Sunday evening, resulting in the loss of at least four lives and leaving many others wounded. The community, known for its farming activities, was invaded by gunmen, causing panic and fear among its residents.

Governor’s Condemnation

The recent attack in the Ugwuijoro Nimbo community, Uzo-Uwani LGA, has been strongly condemned by Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah. He expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic event and vowed that enough is enough, emphasizing the need for swift action to ensure the safety and security of the people.

Political Response

Chijioke Edeoga, the candidate of the Labour Party in the last gubernatorial election in Enugu State, also condemned the attack. He emphasized the non-negotiable nature of farmers’ security and called for the government to take immediate and decisive action to address these escalating violent incidents. Joining the call for action, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, highlighted the urgency of preventing further bloodshed, stating that the nation cannot afford to ignore these repeated attacks.
