Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar Hunted in Gaza Tunnels

Israeli Defense Forces close in on Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in Gaza Strip, believed to be hiding in fortified Khan Yunis base, risking potential human shields in operation.

Israeli officials say they are closing in on Yahya Sinwar, the alleged architect of the October 7 attacks in Gaza. The Israeli military and security services have been working for months to map the extensive network of tunnels beneath Gaza in an attempt to locate Sinwar. Military sources have revealed that he is believed to be hiding in an underground fortified base called “Room 6” in Khan Yunis. However, killing Sinwar risks the lives of potential hostages used as “human shields” by Hamas.
